Esther's work is an exploration of containment and volume, light and surface pattern, used to create unique, handcrafted silver vessels and tableware. "By
highlighting the play of light and shadow over angular, folded
surfaces, overlapping planes and transposed layers, and combining this
with subtle texturing, I aim to create dynamic pieces which accentuate the inherent beauty and wonderful versatility of silver."
Esther has recently re-located her workshop to Maws Craft Centre,Jackfield, in Shropshire; part of the Ironbridge gorge, an area which has World Heritage Site status. http://www.mawscraftcentre.co.uk/ She is a visiting lecturer at the BIAD School of Jewellery, part of Birmingham City University. |
